Hi, I’m Ian—a technology leader with a passion for building great products, systems, and most importantly, great teams. For more than 25 years I’ve worked at the intersection of engineering, leadership, and innovation, helping organisations in fantasy sports, iGaming, and fintech scale rapidly and deliver technology that truly moves the business forward.

I’ve spent the last 7+ years in senior leadership and C-level roles, where I’ve had the privilege of shaping technology strategy, guiding high-performing teams, and tackling some incredibly complex challenges. Whether acting as CTO at United Game Tech, scaling Red Acre’s tech organisation from three people to almost one hundred, or rebuilding the engineering culture at Scout Gaming Group, I’ve always been driven by the same principle: create an environment where talented people can do their best work.

My technical background is equally hands-on. I’ve led migrations from monoliths to microservices, implemented hybrid cloud infrastructures across AWS and private datacentres, and built CI/CD pipelines with automated security, testing, and zero-downtime deployments. Along the way, I’ve helped companies cut infrastructure costs, reduce release cycles, and deliver more resilient and scalable systems.

But if there’s one thread that runs through everything I do, it’s this: I love building teams that care about craftsmanship, collaboration, and continuous improvement. From introducing code-quality frameworks and test automation to encouraging cross-functional roles and transparent reporting, I focus on removing friction and empowering people to succeed.
